Pedal Harder or Lose Weight

A wise man once told me that there are 2 ways to get rich, make more or spend less. The simplicity of the statement makes it powerful. I've decided that there is an equally simple statement to be made about cycling.

"There are two ways to go faster on a bike, pedal harder or lose weight." You heard it here first.

Or both - pedal harder and lose weight! It's good to see you blogging again and thinking about cycling. My off season has been about both topics - dropping weight - and pedaling up wicked hills a lot. Both have helped a ton. I be you do know a lot about cutting weight from wrestling. I've dropped about 35 this off season and I can't even begin to tell you the difference it has made. I'm getting a new race bike this week. If you want to borrow my Trek with SRM power some time for a few days to do some power testing, let me know. Cool to see you getting involved with wrestling too. I bet the kids love that. Look forward to seeing you out on the road.

I don't think losing (or gaining)weight is an option for me. :-(...
So I'll just have to buy a lighter bike :-)

You guys are a bunch of wimps. I am intentionally gaining weight so I push more weight around. Sure you can go fast skinny but can you do it fat. I am going to do it fat and then rub it in all of your faces ;)

Bryan - you are a machine. I can't wait to see you racing in the 3's. I'll be pulling for you to do some damage to the field this year. Oh, btw, if you haven't purchased a bike yet, you should call Jared @ 703 754 1911

Terry - you seem to somehow escape the laws of physics.

Kyle - I hear a challenge! See you at cold toes!
