Thanks to Ryan Bracken for starting off the kids race, Pete for the cool music and for the entire WWVC team for pulling off a great day!
The Haymarket summary was that Sean Domotrovits placed top 10 in the cat 4 race (awesome) ok, now you have upgrade points! Chris Hayes battled with Battley Harley's Chuck Hutch and David Fuentes in the winning break and was out numbered at the finish to take 3rd. Then Chris raced the 1/2/3 with Jared and Jared ended up top 10 i think. So, overall a great day for Haymarket at Ride Sally Ride Criterium. Jackson won the kids race too! Jackson fell off of his bike due to some mechanical problems caused by his non bike mecahnic father, got some road rash warming up, jumped on the start line and won the race. Everybody from the team came home with results....except me....
I rode the cat 3 race and felt really good. I was off the front for a very short period...was saving my energy for the end (like everyone else) and never made it up to the front where I needed to be for a good finish. I'll make an excuse that I got held up on the final lap on the outside of turn #2 by some sketch riders in front of me, but I shouldn't have been there I guess. Turns out that the camera didn't work for our finish and they had people "self- select" their placings. I wasn't up for that as I wasn't top 10 anyhow, so off I went to my daughters' final soccer game of the year, which they won, for an undefeated U14 girls season.

qualia - there is a definite sense of satisfaction in watching your kids succeed in ways you never did.
chuck - nice masters race at RSR. I find it amazing that you guys stayed out with such a small gap.

yeah that was when i won the race...but then they restarted us. second time around i nabbed 4th.
