Wednesdays at Wakefield (no seat post)

My seat post broke on the first lap and I finished the race standing up. Mostly, mountain bike racing is done out of the seat anyway, but it presented a special challenge to balance the bike and corner well and I discovered that roots present a very special challenge when they get wet. The abrasions on my right arm remind me of that this morning!

Jared took 2nd in the Elite Male category and Susan Musante had a podium finish in the Elite Female race. It was good to see Mr Anderson out on the bike again (psst ~ I think he likes this mountain bike stuff) Joe Dombrowski broke his chain, otherwise it would have been an interesting finish between him and Nieters. We'll see what happens next week and then Joe is off to Colorado for Junior Nationals, where he will have a chance to qualify for the Junior World Team.

Off to PA for base training. (family vacation)
